Attwaters’ staff stories – Lauren Jones

In May, we were thrilled to be named one of the Sunday Times Best Places to Work for the second year running. We were also ranked in the Top 10 for medium-sized organisations in the UK. To celebrate, we are introducing you to some of our brilliant team members who share their experience of working with Attwaters. In this edition, we speak to Lauren Jones, our Senior Conveyancing Assistant.

Meet Lauren Jones

Lauren joined Attwaters in 2010, following in the footsteps of her grandmother, who worked here for over 40 years. Lauren started part-time while studying for an ILEX Diploma for Legal Secretaries. After completing her course, Lauren transitioned into a full-time role. She then moved into the conveyancing team and worked her way up to a senior assistant role. 

Roles and responsibilities

As a key member of the conveyancing team, Lauren provides general assistance to the department’s solicitors. Her main responsibilities include preparing quotes, drafting contract papers, handling exchange formalities and post-completion tasks, such as submitting Stamp Duty returns and registering ownership with the Land Registry.

Lauren’s progression

Lauren reflects proudly on the knowledge and skills she has gained during her 15 years with Attwaters “I was able to achieve this due to hard work and support from my team and senior solicitors”, she notes. “I am often encouraged to take my career to the next level”. Lauren’s next goal is to become a qualified Licensed Conveyancer and work in a fee-earning position, so watch this space…

A proud moment

Lauren has a lot to be proud of, but a particular standout was being nominated for Employee of the Year. She adds, “I am also proud of how I have worked hard over the years to progress into a senior position”.

Life at Attwaters

What does Lauren love most about working at Attwaters?“The friendly and supportive environment. Plus, I have built strong relationships with members of my team”.

Lauren is a regular in the Attwaters walking club, enjoying the opportunity to get outside and socialise with colleagues. When asked to describe the company culture in a few words, Lauren chose “welcoming, supportive, strong leadership”.

Lauren concludes, “if you are looking for an environment in which you are encouraged to flourish in your career, with friendly people, while also maintaining a happy and healthy work/life balance then Attwaters is a great place to be!”
