Attwaters’ staff stories – Dalveen Rattan

Earlier this year, we were delighted to be named a Sunday Times Best Place to Work, so we’re sitting down with some of our staff to hear about their life at Attwaters. In this blog, we meet with Dalveen Rattan, a Senior Paralegal in the Wills, Trusts & Probate team. She explains what it’s like working for a Top 10 medium-sized workplace.

Meet Dalveen Rattan

Dalveen joined Attwaters in February 2022, looking for a firm where she could grow professionally. “I decided to join Attwaters because of the opportunities to advance within the firm. I have an ambition to become a qualified Solicitor and Attwaters recognised that from the start”, she explains.

Life at Attwaters

As a Senior Paralegal, Dalveen supports fee earners in the Wills, Trusts & Probate department while also managing her own caseload of fee-earning work.

When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Dalveen says “it doesn’t feel like work”. She goes on to describe Attwaters’ culture as one that “promotes inclusivity and diversity.”

Career progression

Dalveen believes that, in her three years at Attwaters, she has become more confident in her work. She adds, “the firm has supported my career progression by recognising key milestones, celebrating my achievements and encouraging me to pursue the next steps”. We look forward to when Dalveen qualifies as a Solicitor!

Work/life balance

With young children at home, Dalveen says that Attwaters “has offered no end of support during difficult times to allow me to have work/life balance.” For example, Dalveen usually works in the office but knows there is flexibility if she needs it.

Dalveen also enjoys taking part in the firm’s social and wellbeing activities, whether it’s the step challenge, bake-offs or quarterly lunches. “I like being able to check in with staff I might not otherwise see. Plus, it’s great to get away from the screen and participate in something other than my daily tasks.”
