My Professional Background

I joined Attwaters in August 2026 as a Solicitor in the Wills, Trusts & Probate team, having completed my training contract at a local firm in Cambridge.

Prior to this, I gained experience with a family law practice in Cambridge and also worked within a hospital environment, where I dealt with Mental Health Act documentation.

I have ten years’ experience working in private practice and have developed a broad range of experience in Wills and Probate matters. This includes dealing with the Treasury Solicitor in a matter where a charity beneficiary had been incorrectly named in a homemade Will.

I have handled a number of intestacy matters involving multiple beneficiaries. In some cases, this has involved instructing genealogists to establish family trees and trace previously unknown or missing beneficiaries.

In addition, I have experience dealing with a range of Probate matters, assisting clients with the administration and distribution of estate assets, including those held overseas.

For example, I acted in the administration of an estate involving numerous charitable beneficiaries. The Will contained an error in relation to the beneficiaries, which I assisted in resolving. I also supported the clients with the sale of the deceased’s shares and property and the subsequent distribution of the estate to the various charitable organisations.

I also have experience dealing with urgent and sensitive Will instructions. For example, I assisted a client who was seriously unwell and receiving treatment in hospital, with limited time remaining. I acted promptly to prepare and arrange for the execution of her Will within 48 hours, ensuring that her wishes were formally recorded and that she did not die intestate.

I enjoy meeting and listening to clients – the clients are the best part of the job.

Achievements / Accreditations

I studied Law at the University of East Anglia, where I achieved a LLB law degree. I also completed an LPC – a year doing postgraduate vocational training.

About me

I was born and raised in Cambridge and now live in a village in Cambridgeshire. I have a daughter who is 8 years old and keeps me busy.

In my spare time, when I am not spending time with my family, I enjoy hiking, especially in the Lake District or in Scotland. I also enjoy going to the gym and swimming. To unwind, I like to read and watch movies.
