Celebrating 125 years of Attwaters

This year, we are thrilled to celebrate 125 years of Attwaters, so we are taking this opportunity look back on our journey thus far.

We started life in 1901 as Attwater & Liell, with a single premises in London. Since then, our organisation has evolved and expanded into a leading regional law firm. We opened a Loughton office in the 1930s, followed by a Harlow office in 1954.

In July 2012, we merged with respected Hertfordshire practice Jameson & Hill, acquiring offices in Hertford and Ware. We then merged with the prestigious Stafford Young Jones in November 2019, which added a prime London location to our four existing practices.

In 2025, we refreshed our brand to reflect our current position as a high-net-worth law firm. Today, Attwaters Solicitors is proud to support clients across a range of legal services, with a particular focus on private wealth. Backed by 125 years of experience, we have a wealth of knowledge that you can trust.
